Data Science Project 2

This capstone project will provide the culmination of the Master of Data Science degree, showcasing the skills and knowledge acquired throughout the degree to solve complex data-driven real world problems of relevance to industry, science, government or society in general.

You will be embedded in industry, government departments or work under the guidance of staff members to create a portfolio that can be used to demonstrate skills to potential employers.

This is a two-part subject, you will need to complete Data Science Project 1 before enrolling to this subject.

Learning outcomes

Students who successfully complete this subject will be able to:

  • Apply data science skills, knowledge and techniques to solve complex data-driven real world problems
  • Project manage the solution to the problem including conceptualizing the problem, planning, assessing and implementing a solution, either individually or as part of a team
  • Communicate effectively the results of the project both orally and in written form at a career-ready level appropriate for the client.

Assessment

Assessment for this course will occur at various times across the seven-week study period. Tasks may include online quizzes, discussion board activity, portfolio development, case studies, reflection, literature reviews presentations and reports. Feedback will be provided to you throughout the study period as well as a final grade at the conclusion of the study period.
