1. Terms and Conditions 

The Study Buddy Referral Program (“Program”) offered by JCU Online has been created to reward you, our students, (“you,” “Student”, “Participant” or “Referrer”) for recommending us to friends/colleagues/family members/others (“Referred”) who enroll to be a student of JCU Online.  The Program was also created to provide the Referrer and Referred with a way of engaging in their studies and improving their academic success by not studying alone. By participating in the Program, you agree to be bound by these Program Terms and Conditions, the Site Terms and Conditions and the Site Privacy Policy.   

JCU Online reserves the right to alter these Program Terms and Conditions at any time, without providing notice to the Referrer or Referred.  JCU Online may also change, cancel, suspend or modify any aspect of the Program without notice.  Any Referred who had commenced the process of enrolling as a student prior to the changes will not be affected. 

2. How the Program works 

Qualified Referrals. A Qualified Referral occurs when: 

i. The Referrer is a current student with JCU Online and has an assigned unique Student ID which will be used to track their referrals; 

ii. The Referred enrolls to study in one of the courses offered by JCU Online. This does not have to be the same course in which the Referrer is enrolled in; and 

iii. The Referred has paid all fees and progressed past the census date for their first subject.   

iv. When the Referred student has completed all of the steps above, both the Referrer and the Referred will receive a Referral Reward. 

Referral Reward.   The Referrer and the Referred will both receive a pre-loaded $250 VISA card.  

The Referrer can receive one Referral Reward for each Qualified Referral they have completed with another successful Referred student.   The Referred student will only receive one Referral Reward regardless of the number of subjects studied.  If the Referred student wants to receive another Referral Reward, they will need to do this by becoming a Referrer, as explained above. 

Eligibility. To be eligible for participating in the Program, the Referrer must be a current student of JCU Online. Additionally, the Referred must have paid all subject fees and progressed past the census date of their first subject. 

Privacy. As a means of ensuring the appropriate handling of personal identifiable information, JCU Online will not contact Referred students unless they’ve used the unique referral link and completed the online form.  

Conduct.  Referrers or other participants in the Program agree to comply with all SPAM laws.  Any distributions of your referral URL that might constitute unsolicited commercial email or “spam” under any applicable law or regulation is your responsibility, is expressly prohibited and will be grounds for being excluded from the JCU Online’s Referral Program. You must not use your referral URL or Student ID for commercial purposes or must not make your referral URL or Student ID available to the general public. You must not make any misleading representations about JCU Online or the Program, or use your referral URL or Student ID in breach of any applicable laws. 

You must not use any intellectual property of JCU Online, other than to identify yourself as a current JCU Online student. 

JCU Online reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to prohibit any person from participating in the Program if JCU Online deems or suspects that such person has engaged in or has attempted to engage in any of the following: a) acting in violation of these Program Terms and Conditions; b) damaging, tampering with or corrupting the operation of the Program or; c) activity deemed in the sole discretion of JCU Online to be inconsistent with the intended operation of the Program. 

3. Other Terms 

General Terms. These Program Terms and Conditions and the documents referred to in these Program Terms and Conditions constitute the entire agreement between Participants and JCU Online concerning the Program.  The failure of JCU Online to exercise or enforce any right or provision of these Program Terms and Conditions shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision. 

Vouchers will be in AUD only. Only students residing in Australia will be eligible for the referral program.

JCU reserves the right to terminate the Program at any time, without notice.
