Corporate Strategy

Understand how companies create value through the acquisition of a successful and competitive business portfolio, in addition to the configuration and coordination of these businesses. You will learn how to identify opportunities and synergies to improve a business’ corporate strategy as well as recognise the strategic implications of both regional/global rationalisation and local responsiveness in global strategy. The major topics covered in this subject include diversification, vertical integration, restructuring, synergy, alliance strategy and global strategy.
Learning outcomes
Upon completing this subject, you will be able to:
- Analyse and evaluate decisions, tools and concepts of corporate strategy
- Identify and explain strategic approaches to stakeholders, business and corporations as a means of creating value.
Assessment
Assessment for this course will occur at various times across the seven-week study period. Tasks may include online quizzes, discussion board activity, portfolio development, case studies, reflection, literature reviews presentations and reports. Feedback will be provided to you throughout the study period as well as a final grade at the conclusion of the study period.
