Explore concepts and theories from sociology, psychology and organisational science, which form the knowledge base for leadership and management skills. This subject focuses on surveying core skills and setting yourself up for continuous self-development and learning. As you reflect on your own style and strengths – and those of others – you will improve your leadership and management skills, particularly those skills that ensure you are able to cope with today’s increasingly dynamic and complex global business environment.
Upon completing this subject, you will be able to:
- Analyse and explain core management and leadership concepts
- Develop an application framework for management and leadership practice
- Reflect on management practices and leadership styles in a range of contexts
- Apply and evaluate application of management and leadership approaches to a range of issues and contexts
Assessment for this course will occur at various times across the seven-week study period. Tasks may include online quizzes, discussion board activity, portfolio development, case studies, reflection, literature reviews presentations and reports. Feedback will be provided to you throughout the study period as well as a final grade at the conclusion of the study period.
